Meet The Ultimate Trickster
In order to promote creativity in sports, we developed for Nike this integrated campaign in which some of the world's best athletes meet their match in an animated stick-figure called Stickman.
In this massive ad campaign created by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam that broke across Europe on February 2003, the black stick-figure took on Brazilian football star Ronaldinho, South Korean master of football acrobatics Mr Woo, and the street basketballer Larry "Bone Collector" Williams. All of this to a soundtrack created by hip-hop producers The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo).
In a second phase of the campaign, Nike ran "Freestyle Face Off" events across Europe, backed by an advertising campaign on outdoor, radio and tag-ons.
The campaign won Gold in Cannes.
